Cleaning
Your Jewellery is designed to be loved and worn however it is normal with exposure to air for metal to oxidise over time.
To clean your pieces simply soak in warm, soapy water for a few minutes and wipe dry. This should be enough for most pieces but if any stubborn areas of dirt remain use a soft bristled tooth brush to gently clean the surface.
Gold plating
Here are our tips on keeping your Gold plated pieces feeling fresh.
-avoid contact with water. Remove all jewellery when you shower or take a bath and take off your rings when washing your hands. We know it can be annoying but water can cause the gold layer to wear away over time so this will really improve the longevity of the plate.
-applying perfumes and creams before you put your jewellery on can also really help the longevity of your pieces plating. substances like perfume and oil can react with the gold in the plating causing it to tarnish or wear away.
-Take your jewellery off before bed. The rubbing of bedsheets against your jewellery can cause friction that can damage your pieces.
-When you aren’t wearing your jewellery, try to store in a cool dry place.
Ultimately don’t worry too much because there is no limit to the amount of times a piece can be plated!
